Joe,

Let me assume for a moment that you have a circa. 1910 Daly diamond quality gun. The next step is determining which "diamond quality" model you have. SD&G always sold their guns by model designation. Some of these guns were grouped under umbrella terms such as "diamond quality", but there are big differences in retail price between models. There is a big difference in the value, for example, of a model 225 diamond quality gun versus a model 375 diamond quality gun. In 1910 the difference in price would have been $150.

A couple quick questions will help determine which diamond quality model you have -

1) Does the gun have ejectors or extractors?

2) Does the gun have any gold inlays (other than the word "SAFE" above the safety)?

3) Assuming it does have gold inlays, are the inlays done in a flat style or heavy relief style?

Once we have the model figured out, the next step is to get an idea of the condition and features of the gun (gauge, barrel length, etc.). There is a big difference in the value of a pristine model 275 for example in 20 gauge versus beat-up 12 gauge. Pictures would be especially helpful to come up with a swag on value.
