I did this with two Greener GP shotguns last year.
I used a British exporter. His fee was reasonable, it was the air freight that was expensive.
I acquired the guns from two dealers in the UK and had them shipped to the exporter. I used my local FFL to do the import as he is not a regular importer and this is allowed. I had the dealers email me the details of the guns that the ATF import permit form needed. Took only a few weeks for the ATF to approve the import. I had to print and sign and airmail the original end user declaration to the exporter in the UK. Once the FFL had the approved form I faxed a copy to the exporter. The UK dealers had to send a copy of the sales receipt to the exporter. Once all the pieces were in place, which took longer than the ATF to approve, due to the time difference in communication, the guns were air-freighted direct from Heathtrow to Phoenix. One of the guys from the FFL went down to the airfreight and took the forms over to customs, Duty is 2.6% and on mine which were worth approx $620 total, it was approx $16.66 and waived. Once customs signed off on the guns, back to the airfreight and pick up the guns. A $25 fee for their paperwork
Then back to the FFL and enter them in the book and call me to do the transfer.
Best part of using a local FFL is no import marks required.
All up cost was approx US$1000.
Other info, I could call the shops in the UK and make sure the gun was still for sale, quote my plastic at them and email the address of the exporter to send them to.
Emailed the Exporter to give them a heads up on the expected delivery and who they were sent from.
I can provide the name and email of the exporter if you need it.
Best to use a FFL at a port of entry or nearby (< 30 miles).
I filled out the ATF form for the FFL, all he had to do was sign it, I then took it to the post office to mail it.
This may not be possible depending upon where you live.
It can be done yourself, it takes a little time and effort, but you get your guns or guns without import marks.
