There is of course a "Large" difference between poaching game out of season & using an efficent tool for it's legal taking. Whether "Locals" or "Imports" I still think the problem is the "Changed" attitude of the people involved, not the guns themselves.
PS; I don't personally shoot a magnum & for that matter not even maximum loads from a standard length shell. The game I hunt is quite well handled by an ounce of shot. I have though shot as much as 2oz from a 3½" 10ga mag. On that occasion a "Popgun" would have been useless.
