Would you pay the same price for a gun made by a BV3 (or even an unknown name) as a Purdey assuming the quality were equal? I bet you wouldn't.

Sure, everyone has to start out somewhere - but when it comes to vintage guns the chips were all in long ago. The likes of Purdey and H&H came out on top for a reason - and that's why people pay more for one, still.

So what I'm saying is even if a Joe Blow SLE is every bit as good as a Purdey in terms of quality, you still are going to pay more for the Purdey name and rightfully so.
