Jim, in Los Angeles County, $75-$100 would be a real bargain. Some of the extra cost has to be related to the cost of living here, and some of it is related to the fact that the FFL has to store the gun for 10 or more days to accommodate our f*****g waiting period. They even have to time the waiting period to the minute. If you complete the paperwork at 3:45 in the afternoon, you can't pick up the gun until after 3:45 ten days later. It's all a major PITA, but probably not unconstitutional.
