I can't speak with any authority about currently made FAIRs, as the two I have are from AD2002 and AD2003.
In August 2002 my dealer called me in to inspect his FAIR shipment for a desired 20GA. I examined five or six 20GA FAIRs and found several accceptable. On spec I handled two of this shipment in 28GA - never previously having fired a 28GA at that point. The first I handled I did not let go of....bought it on the spot. Imagine a 28GA Browning Superposed with 28" barrels, with darker Turkish figured wood, slight cast-off for a right handed shooter, cheap thin recoil pad, and a bit too bulbous pistol grip.
Was so taken with it, I immediately placed an order for my "semi-bespoke" 16GA FAIR. Asked for longer barrels, and longer stock, English hand and double triggers. Dealer personally places his orders in IWA Germany or EXE Italy annually and got his next shipment in July 2003. Got everything I asked for in that 16GA O/U. I've since had both tarted-up with BIG Bradley white front sights, Lyman white mid beads, and Pachmayr pads for more LOP (I'm 6'3").
Both see limited annual use, as they compete with my oldie SxS guns for daylight time. Both guns have their own frame size, came with combination lock built in plastic hard case, and five screw chokes. The two tightest 16GA chokes are VERY MUCH TOO tight.
GREAT guns for the money - not perfectly finished, but really fine affordable industrial product of modern Italy.
No idea of current USA retail priceing - will depend on retailer markup.
I believe the Cotona and Verona shotguns are contract made FAIRS. Also suspect that Isodoro provides frames to brother Batista and to Guerini Bros.
Hope this helps.
