Michael, I looked no # there but still has the the original serial on receiver ring so guess they felt it wasn't necessary. There in a # 61 stamped on the stock behind recoil lug. The reason I thought the barrel was a Springfield is that there is remnants of a cross slot on the bottom of the barrel where the sight collar was pinned, no sign of the locating pin at the receiver. if so it was re-contured as it is not like an issue barrel.
