Does anyone use the SideSighter shotgun sight? Does it work?

Some trapshooters use them. They are 2 extensions off the rib to be used as sights for the off eye. Their problem is that the angle of convergance (line of sight, off eye, and center line of barrel) comes to one point only. Shooting a game with similar distance shots, works best. Adding a second full rib works the same. Some shoot very well with this set up. The best set up for trapshooting is a mirror system where you see straight down the rib with the off eye. (Custom made)

I have used the Carey Side Sighter for several years, but I would like to know more about the mirrors. I believe Don Carey (carey enterprises) works out of Idaho in the summer and Arizona in the winter. Use google or trapshooters.com to locate him. Jack, the "one range convergence" is solved by not converging the sighter and the rib at one range, but by adjusting the sighter exactly parallel with the rib, which results in a pattern that is about two inches right of center, no big problem in the world of shotgun shooting.

I would have no trouble using it hunting, but I have crossover guns that I hunt with. The Side Sighter does not work on a side by side without serious modification and I will not shoot a feathered animal with an over under or a magazine gun. I once shot a pigeon shoot with an over under and felt like I was in a foreign country with a clown mask. I will never do it again. Murphy

I know, it was dificult to go from my sxs guns to o/U's on the quail and pheasants. The wenig people said it would be easier to crossover a O/U because of the big curve on the stocks for my big head. It is amazing how you miss looking down those two barrles. I want to puke eveytime i open my safe.

I have crossover guns in over under and side by side persuasion. I almost bought a Model 12 crossover stock but couldn't get together with the seller. I would love to have a crossover for a Model 12 or 42.
