The history looks good, the gun tech info is poor. The writer did his research but doesn't understand guns. bill Yes; I expect they may have received a few letters about that 90% pattern at 40 "Feet". Doesn't take much "Special Boring" to accomplish that.

ScottG, do you care to expand on just what you think doesn't add up? Some of us haven't had a good laugh today...

I'd like to know your reasons as well, ScottG. I know two other posters who have expressed very strong feelings that it isn't the real deal as well, and they have expressed their reasons why. I disagree with them, too, but am open minded enough to hear the other side out. Every one has the right to their opinion.

Stan, I own my share of Fox guns. Have four of Beckers. For starters the engraving is completely different from what I've seen on Burts guns. I'm talking about the writing on the barrels of course etc. (not the engraving pattern). Perhaps the biggest question arises from the Mississippi Delta itself. Many men that we would consider "old timers" who hunted with Nash, pigeon shooters who stay under the radar etc. would tell us that the gun ended up elsewhere. PM me if you would like more info.

Far as I know, there are no pictures of the names stamped on the barrels of the original bo-whoop to compare this one to. Scott, if you'd rather not share the rumors you've heard, we will accept that, but it might be useful for those of us interested to see any similar marks which may appear on your 4 Becker guns. For what it's worth, the crude name stamping on the current contender seem a little disappointing to me too...Geo

It is not a "Becker" and was never supposed to be. It was an HE-Grade Super-Fox with XE-Grade wood and engraving that Burt Becker, who was at that time it was originally built an employee/contractor at the A.H. Fox Gun Co., bored the barrels and tuned up for Nash Buckingham, at the request of the AHFGCo.'s salesman Ad Roll. It is clearly shown as an XE/HE in the picture of it in the original Derrydale edition of Ole Miss. Later pictures show that it was apparently restocked at some point before it was lost, maybe by Burt Becker. Here is a picture, from Dr, Andrew's book, of Nash with the gun in the 1940s.
