I only read one issue of this magazine. Too much Garden and not enough Gun for my tastes. It had one small article on a firearms engraver.
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

The "journal of Southern Culture" - just have to love a periodical that aspires to that. I think it's great. And to hell with all damn yankees. And I agree, I thought it was a great article. It was the first time I had seen the whole story put together.

I agree we have never read about the Savannah connection. I have subscribed from the beginning and will continue. We have replaced Southern Living with G&G.

GregSY, I had not thought about the Magazine in the terms of letting a readership know about guns who would otherwise never get the experience that guns might be other than "awful". No other magazine does that. Your point is a good one.

The Bo Whoop article was excellent. I like Garden and Gun, my wife likes it and, after it's read and brought to my office waiting room, it's is THE most commented on periodical by the patients and their families. I've never gotten a negative comment either.
It's kind of a stealth exposure to fine guns and hunting for people who would never pick up a SSM, Gun Dog, American Rifleman, Field and Stream or similar publications. I think that's just great and it might just plant a seed. We can use all the "seeds" we can get!

Bob, my late mother-in-law risked eternal damnation when she secreted a copy of Garden and Gun away from her doctor's waiting room so she could get me a subscription. Must have made a positive impression on her at age 88.

Actually, we hope they take them home eventually. Otherwise we have to throw them away. I don't remember a G&G ever in the trash!

Well I guess I'm just wallowing in ignorance because I never heard of G&G before reading this thread. As for Bo Whoop, I really have a hard time getting excited over that thing. But I'll admit, it sure does cut a wide path.

If you like to read about shotguns with provenance, the last issue of Ruffed Grouse Society magazine did a piece about the new owner of Burton Spiller's Parker Gun.

The history looks good, the gun tech info is poor. The writer did his research but doesn't understand guns. bill
