9x57 dies were once a standard catalog item (at least for Lyman around 1970) but are now as rare and expensive as 9x56 dies. 9x57 loaded ammo was likewise once available at a reasonable price, but no longer. BTW much of this older 9x57 ammo has corrosive primers so beware.
So yes, I'd say that rechambering would NOT be my first choice. I've never owned a 1905 but have 'heard' that the 9x56 chamber will sometimes accept the 9x57 ammo. IMO it would be worth doing a chamber cast, and CH4D can supply dies.
