Just to clarify, the point I was making by referencing the Greener bolt with no locking underlug was that "I didn't know of a European gun of that configuration." My imperfect conclusion was the the gun pictured is probably no known European gun. In my mind, I think I am looking at an American gun.

Larry, I did state that the double extension rib side by side does, in fact, have a very wide breech. I have not seen an example of the gun you mention with extension ribs that lock outside of the receiver.

Eightbore, as I recall, the one in particular I remember looking at closely was at Champlin Arms. German, which is no big surprise. They came up with a lot of different bolting systems, often using multiple ones on the same gun.

Many thanks to everybody for all the comments and work trying to figure this one out. It sure is an unusual shotgun, and if we come across any new info, I'll be sure and post it for all to enjoy.
