Skeettx, yes, I am wrong it is for the 24 ga magtec cartridge and the chamber is bired to fit that same, and not the full length "official" 2 3/4. The gun is a very nice, tight and sound Remmington 1889 hammer 10 bore with steel liners from a smith up in Oregon who has been making these for a while. My gun was the donor.
Harry, thanks for you advice on the BP loading, I do remember that BP does not like void spce and will most likely try some of the newer powerds like Varget or others which provide considerably less pressure. It even appears as though 4198 charges of about 39-45 grains is possiblt too.
Will only experiment prudently, but was asking if some had some basic loading.
