Hi,
I'm looking for some opinion and advice.
I'm considering a bespoke 20 ga Grulla 216RB. I'd like to have the ability to hunt grouse, rabbits, & pheasant with lead and non-tox and so would like a variety of chokes to chose from. I am considering two options:
- buy the gun with a single barrel and have Briley thin wall chokes installed. Cost of choke install = approx $500 + S&H
- buy a two barrel set with fixed chokes: IC/Mod & Cyl/IC). Cost of extra barrel (proofed for steel shot) = $2400
So the economics are favoring the Brileys but at heart I would love to have a two barrel set for some intangible reason. Any thoughts?
If I go for the two barrel set, is it typical to have a forend for each barrel or typical to have one forend that fits both barrels? Any pros & cons for this decision?
Also torn between a pretty skeleton buttplate or a recoil pad (leather covered) so any thoughts on that would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David
