Chuck, I also am considering cancelling. I ordered on 10/7/05 and on 11/11/06 emailed them and requested a refund if my order was not delivered in the next 30 days and the reply was I would receive my gun way ahead of that dead line. I haven"t heard from them since! The amount of my order is 3650.00 and the majority of my shooting is S/C targets so I am seriously thinking of spending the money on a K or P gun as I have several real SxS's to hunt and play with.

Chuck,
I am sure that 20-gauge Parker Repro is on an 0-frame--they never built Parker Repros on a 1-frame. If it's the gun I'm thinking about, the one that has 28" barrels and is choked Q1/Q2--look closely at the 2nd pic...it clearly shows the "0" on the rear lug. A 6 lb. 9 3/4 oz. 28" Parker Repro is on the light side as far as Parker Repros go--I know of 26" guns that weigh more. If this 28" barrel length gun is factory choked at Q1/Q2, and it appears that it is, it's an extremely rare gun.

Jag, I'm not worried about deliv sched, just have reservations about the quality of checkering, engraving and the wood. But mostly I have reservations that CSM is trading integrity off for the short term answers to their production problems and customer pressures. That's one reason I never pressured them for delivery.
Bam, Yup, that's it, but I think the Lefever may be the way I end up going. The Parker is nice, but the Lefever is American made and a classic I've been wanting for quite a while.

Chuck: I think this gun was kicked around on the PGCA website a few days ago, and the 1-frame idea was debunked. As I recall, nothing wrong with the gun if you want open chokes and a single trigger (if my memory isn't failing me).

I guess all the pre-production hype of the RBL being the new classic - even compared to the McKay Brown gun(hehehe) by some has fallen by the wayside. The bailing numbers are growing! I see 'em as nice wood! ...but Purdey's used wood to fill in the gap of steel to shoulder.

Lowell, I don't know about the RBL being a new classic nor do I have any interest in McKay Brown guns. They are obviously not in the same league in terms of cost or quality or embellishment. They may be comparable on their utilitarian characteristics, but I wouldn't know, nor do I think it's relavent, at least to me and my purchase. I wanted an American made 20g sxs that was well made and suited my modern hunting gun desires.
As represented in their ads and prototypes, the RBL suited my desires perfectly. Some of the guns I've seen and statements CSM has apparently made, have me questioning my decision.
From what I've seen, I'd pay an extra handling fee to have the gun left without their version of "checkering" and "engraving".

The RBL, was thought by many to be the salvation of America's gunmaking future. I've a stake in this country, so I'll look for a good used one down the road aways - to go with my Kimber SuperAmerica.

"...salvation of America's gunmaking future. ..." seems a little melodramatic. I just wanted one decent modern American sxs gun.
