I wonder why Parker Repro .410 bbls in the 2-ga sets (28/.410) were marked 0000 when they were made to fit the 00 frame.

Here's my guess...When Olin and the Parker Reproduction people lost their manufacturing facility they had, according to the Shotgun Sports/Sisley article, completed 33 of the 133 .410 guns on the 4/0-frame that they had started. They then paired and fitted some of these left over marked 4/0-frame .410 barrels sets to 28-ga. 00-frame guns and
voila they then had 28/.410 bi-gauge sets to sell.
