Just wanted to let anyone know who was interested (I was!), I called Galazan and the one listed on GI is a 00 frame, not the holy grail 0000 frame. Maybe they will correct their ad (we'll see). I wonder why Parker Repro .410 bbls in the 2-ga sets (28/.410) were marked 0000 when they were made to fit the 00 frame. Oh well, the price still seems pretty good.

Glad to hear it Joe. I have been trying all weekend to figure out how to pitch this purchase to the boss!???

But since I already have the same gun, just 2 barrel 28 ga., I can get on to other stuff. Makes way more sense for me to have the 28's.
Also it may not be a "bad price", but I can't rationalize the .410 barrels being worth $6000 and not getting the second set of 28 barrels. If one could find the 2 barrel set in 28 today, I don't think it would sell for much more than 7K, do you?

I am however going to put $500 down on the CSMC .410 barrel today.

Here's my guess...When Olin and the Parker Reproduction people lost their manufacturing facility they had, according to the Shotgun Sports/Sisley article, completed 33 of the 133 .410 guns on the 4/0-frame that they had started. They then paired and fitted some of these left over marked 4/0-frame .410 barrels sets to 28-ga. 00-frame guns and voila they then had 28/.410 bi-gauge sets to sell.

Do you recall what issue of Shotgun Sports had the Sisley article you referenced? Thanks

Thanks Fred. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Shotgun Sports has back issues that far past.

Marcus, here's a link to the six page article that is posted on the PGCA website. When you're done reading the first page scroll down a bit and click on "Next Picture" to continue reading the article.
