Chuck, nothing wrong with a butt graft for the inletting-challenged, but still too much work if the seller wants $4K for a worn Repro with short stock. If you already own the gun and it's a sunk cost, that's a different story. Besides, few on this board would attempt to do the butt graft themselves, so must figure the cost of professional assistance. Gotta look at the economics. Take-off Repro stocks are around for $400, plus fitting and finishing after you find one that will work. So, for my money (which it is not in this case), I'd have to buy the gun for at leat $1K less than I would otherwise pay.
