Well now there is absolutely nothing wrong with a "Barn Hinge". How would you get inside to milk ole Bessie without it.
I too have a Halifax 16ga which tips the scales 2 oz shy of 6lb, carries like its just not there. Haven't particularlly noticed any trigger problems with it & shoot it quite well "Once" I figure out how to get that Stupid Safety off. A sfety belongs on top under the thumb, that dumb location on the Darne essentially kills its usefulness to me as a hunting gun, & its too light for anything else.
