Steve,

I was going to say no, it was sold yesterday from an auction house in Georgia and it too was listed as a Nitro Special. Then curiosity got the the better of me so I went and checked RIA's last auction catalog and sure enough there was this gun, packaged together with a Stevens 311 and a Crescent .410 in one lot.

RIA sold the lot of 3 for $805.00, the house in Georgia got that much from me for the Lefever alone, $425 for the Crescent 410 and $160 for the Stevens.

That's about a 50% return in less than 30 days, can I get some of my IRA in there? smirk

And the wrong ID just followed it from one place to the other.

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

Rob if you have got $800.00 in this gun you have done very well. That is less than the cost of reconditioning the gun if it's not original but I'm inclined to believe that the barrel finish is original and that there is a good chance that the color case is also. Lefevers of any grade are very good guns. Shoot it in good health.

Thanks, not worried at all, just thought it's interesting how the places are making a buck. I agree the metal looks original and the stock looks well done. Have to see what the dimensions are, hopefully I won't have to monkey around with pads and such.

"Places are making the buck?" That's true, but the buyer and seller in this case made the buck.

If you like anything resembling modern dimensions you will be quite please with this gun, and it is VERY well done. Nicest I grade I've ever seen. You will be very pleased. I highly doubt it is original, due to the fact that it was a "cheap" gun, however whomever redid the gun knows his/her way around a double.

BTW the Cresent .410 was JUNK!! It was off face, chromed and pitted wouldn't even make a nice wall hanger...
