Its encouraging to see a long time knowledgable and informed collector such as you talk about a gun you regretted selling. I was reading the tread on the presentation 12 gauge and it gave me remorse about some 20 gauge Lefevers that I let go. My problem is that many times the only way that I can have another gun is to give up one that I already own.

I have similar regrets about selling a M21 20ga choked Cyl/Mod.

You know you have made a mistake when you can't remember what it was that seemed more important at the time.

The last time I was in Louisville, last fall I took a cased Superposed with a two barrel set with me to sell. One of the sets was a SK/SK. I got swarmed as soon as I got inside before I even bought a ticket. One guy said he would talk to me after I got into the showroom and sure enough he was waiting inside the door and snatched it up. It was a beautiful gun, but I have to get rid of some of them. And at the time I had four Superposeds. So I am left with a 20 and another 12 gauge. I will probably sell the 12 before long and keep the 20 for good. But the two barrel set was like new. I made about $800.00 on it since I bought it at the Grand a few years ago from Jaqua's. So I came out OK. But someone got a nice gun. He really wanted the skeet chokes, though. Good luck.

Agree with 2-p on pattern behaviour. Patterns, other than blown ones, are Gausian distributed. They open in a predictable fashion and they don't close down. They don't open fast and then settle down and stay at that opening. The trumpet shape is due to a greater loss of forward velocity compared to sideways velocity (plot it out). Patterns never have "even" distribution!! Holes appear when the number of pellets is insufficinet to cover the area the pattern has spread to. They are random and not really a characteristic of any given choke.
