You once located the records of a town in Saxon on an old German DB. We never could find any info on Gunsmith. When you have time could you check on another one for me. It is H. Marchner-Regensburg. Just thought I might get lucky.

Many Thanks

Ernie

Ernie,
Hans Marchner of Regensburg was active in early 20th century; I found a parlor gun signed by him, from 1907.
Kind regards,
Jani

Hans Marchner was still active gunsmith in Regensburg in 1932; either same person as above or possibly his son.

Thanks Jani

I noticed in the picture it was engraved Hans Marchner while mine is just H. Marchner. I would take it that Hans is the son. Did all of his guns have a double trigger, one set trigger and one to fire??? If the one I have is a parlor gun, what cal. would you think??

Appreciate

Ernie,
My observation is that most if not all of vintage German "Zimmerstutzen" or parlor guns had double set triggers. I don't know much about these guns but many were of caliber 4mm.

I'd like to see the marks on any and all of these type as I would venture a guess that most were made in Zella Saint Blasii.

I don't know how to post pictures on this site but I can email pictures if you will send me your email address. Will list mine below. Also what is so interesting about this gun is the either family crest or coat of arms on each side of receiver. One is different from the other. Don't know anyone that has experience in this area do you??

appreciate

It looks to be a Martini of sorts, possibly a Büchel Martini but I think they were all 0.22 cal.
Ernie: any chance of getting a pic of the underside of the tube with the forend wood removed?

Don't know if my cheap camera would do any good with the underside of the tube as they are very small. There is not much on it so I will describe it to you. There are two stars with Bohler written between them. The only other mark is a circle with the letters ML inside the circle. Does this help any??? Does anyone know of somebody that could help identify the markings on the side of the receiver. I just get the feeling this gun was made for a certain family.

Appreciate

Ernie
