Mal Mac Gregor Sidelock Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 470 Back up North	The horn tip was finished along with thw rest of the stock with boiled linseed oil and alkinet root stain. Please don't use any abrasive which will remove hardened oil. Horn tends to lighten with age, and your tip looks just fine to me. Linseed oil rubbed in, allowed to soak a bit, and then rubbed dry will not hurt the tip, or the stock. All the best, Mal
