Just wondering if any of the folks from the DC area have heard of any of the usual quality double gun dealers bagging the Nations Gun Show this weekend in Chantilly due to the back to back blizzards... Cabin fever setting in already so I'd probably go just to look at the tomahawks...

Don't know who is going and who is not. However, you are close enough to walk to the show, almost. Let us know what you see. I will be there.

After our next round of snow tonite, it is supposed to be nice weather for the weekend, so I'm thinking good attendance, both sellers and buyers. It is Valentines Day weekend tho, but hope to get there myself,

jmc, Kevin and I share three tables. I read the website for the show promoters and they say they will not cancel a show for weather. Let's face it, we are prepaid. They can't cancel a show and not go to court with someone. We will be there.

I don't want to spoil your enthusiasm about the show, but I have attended it faithfully until one year ago and decided that I wasn't going to drive 3 hours to see a flea market (Murphy excluded). In fact I have expressed disgust with the promoters about the progressive degradation of all their events, and I'm confident that I'm not the only one who feels this way.
The first couple shows were among the best I've attended--- quality dealers from up and down the mid-Atlantic, but now the promoters have the mindset that just because they have a "gun show" they can attract the public and collect attendance fees despite the fact that they are more flea markets and craft shows than gun shows. Be prepared to see plenty of prints of WW2 planes, laptops, jewelry, and rubberband guns which have replaced the original quality dealers who came and made the show worth the admission fee.
Odd--- I can remember in the not-too-distant past that the promoters' website stated "Guns and gun-related items only"-- no longer !

I've also attended the show on more then one occasion and Lacoach pretty much has it spot on. I think off the top of my head there are probably 3 or 4 pretty major dealers who hit the show as a matter of course and I'm not sure many of their guns turnover during a show. In fact I think they buy more then sell for the most part. MidSouth probably has the biggest selection, but don't expect anything except at full retail. So in short, if you are looking for doubles at a reasonable price it probably won't happen. That said, you never know at any gunshow what you might stumble on, and I always enjoy talking with Bill and Kevin at the Parker booth. I'll also say after staring at snow for the past week or so, I'll be there as I need a doublegun fix.

I agree with Laxcoach. The promoters are doing us no favors. I do the show because it is close to home and I meet my friends there. I have bought a few screamers there, but have worked hard for them.
