Mine are doing okay....I look at an internal barrel pitt kinda like a cavity in a tooth that can't be fixed.

Geo have you thought about having a set of Briley full length 20 ga. tubes made for the gun ?

jOe, that's a good alternative for a barrel set thst someone has honed out to the point they aren't safe anymore. Like I said I have one of those that I don't shoot, and may end up doing that. However, the Hammer Scott I'm talking about has plenty of barrel thickness and is in proof, it's just pitted up. No reason not to shoot it as is...Geo

I agree...As long as you keep the plastic and fowling out of the pitts. (Which is next to impossible).

Once you get the rust out of the pits with vinegar or something else and get the bores well-oiled, plastic and fowling in the pits should not be a problem as long as you are not using black powder. Just swab the bores with good oil and keep shooting. IF the gun is safe with rust in the pits, then it's still safe with clean pits that build up some plastic.
