I use Mobil 1 general purpose synthetic grease for my guns. The "why" of my logic is that I believe any general purpose chassis grease is designed to lubricate much higher pressure and higher surface speed bearings and joints under much harsher conditions than our guns have and for longer "change" durations. So, I fill a syringe with my truck chassis grease, which happens to be Mobil 1 general purpose chassis grease. That's it. IMO, no further analysis or handwringing over what grease to use is required, just use your automotive chassis grease, whatever you have on hand for your cars. BTW, Mobil 1 chassis grease is at nearly every auto store around here.
