King,

It was very eye-opening for me the first trip. I was expecting bruising and pain from 1200 plus rounds a day, even with a twenty and 7/8 oz. loads, but never a bruise and all tenderness would be gone by time to shoot the next morning. And I am 6'2" and only weigh 164 lbs. However, one of my close friends who went with us took a twenty semi-jammamatic. He kept complaining about the recoil and pain, but I really didn't know what was going on for a day or two. He showed me his shoulder and I couldn't believe it. There was an area roughly 5 inches square that was as raw as hamburger meat. We got home on Thursday and, the following Sunday morning after church he was bleeding through his dress shirt. I can only assume it is all about gun mounting. I think he does not "address" the target as squarely as I, and his gun actually slides across his shoulder in recoil. He's tough though, he shot continuously like that for four days, then went back a few years later. Another buddy, who must weigh at least 280, and solid as a brick, was eating ibuprofen tablets every morning eight at a time, 1600 mg per round, and you couldn't have knocked the grin off his face with a two by four.

May God bless America and those who defend her.
