The top of the barrel reads something like "No 343 Made by L.G. Thomas, Shreveport, Louisiana" then on top of the quarter rib, "Engraved by Griffin & Howe". I took it to mean that the rifle was made up by Thomas, then sent to G&H for engraving. Bryndon
