Word the wise on "JJ". He had done good work for a me--and at least one of my home-boys. And my homie is a collector's collector; wow does he have guns!
But lately, we've had poor, slow service from him.
I thought my experience was an anomaly until recently: I was at a vintage shoot, munching my lunch and minding my own bees-wax, when his name came up. I don't remember how it started, but it the volume started low, then grew...and grew.
The stories would "part-your-hair". Common theme was slow, incomplete service. Some folks were down-right pissed off.
Here is a fact to consider, the last job I sent him had to be redone. He took about 6 months--with a lot of hounding, the next guy took 2 weeks.
Back to lunch: we all came to the same conclusion: it appears that he is now focused on selling guns, not fixing them.

Then there is “Herbert” at Merkel USA. What a blessing it was that someone turned me on to him. But he only works on Merkels.
This guy is a stud. And he will stand behind his work with an old-school guarantee—but that’s another topic.
