Mark, I'm sorry that my remark offended you, but I hafta refer you to the following photo taken from Monte Kennedy's book.

This Hartley M12 stock could have been the poster child for some of the more clubby factory Handi stocks!
I'll freely admit that his
rifle stocks shown in the Kennedy book aren't
quite as bad as this, but I've also seen plenty more of his more-canoe-paddley versions on rifles pictured in various Gun Digests over the years. A superior workman but IMO certainly not a designer of slim, svelte, lively-appearing stocks.
