I realize this is an older thread, but I found the reference to Lloyd Spooner and his registered 357. I would like to contact your friend relative to the owner. Last I knew , my grandmother who married Col. Lloyd Spooner, gave the 357 to Lloyd's family members on the west coast. I have quite a bit of memorabilia of his including some of the Olympic scrolls he earned as well as stuff from his being CO of Ft. Rucker.

i.e. the 357 was given to him by S&W and not use in the 1920 Antwerp Olympics
