Also, 200 proof alcohol is very dangerous as the alcohol wants to form the azeotrope and will remove water from any substance, especially human tissue. Trust me, everclear will be just fine.

I will visit the package store today and pick up a bottle of Everclear. My guess is the "real" spirits of wine used in 1800's London oil finish was nothing other than strong brandy. Buy a quart of good brandy, use 1/2 gill for the oil finish, and drink the remainder! Thanks guys!
