Thanks Dean. The name sounded vaguely familiar but, I couldn't remember why. I would very much like to know his opinion of the gun, since Julia's invited him to offer his opinion. If this gun, that I examined for roughly an hour, maybe a little more, turns out to be a counterfeit I am going to be flabbergasted. I claim to be no expert at aging and discerning true patina from faked, however, I have verified the history of this gun for the last 50 years as near as I can, and can find no possible motive for counterfeiting, given the history of it.
