What is the wall thickness at chamber and bore of the Zabala after it has been honed out to eight bore dimensions? My AYA ten obviously couldn't be comfortably bored out to eight bore dimension, but I'm sure there are tens that can be.

And here is the Westley Richards 8 bore drop lock as of Nov '09. Chris and I are "industrial size" guys, so don't confuse the actual size of this cannon.

BTW, be sure to keep W. Richards and Westley Richards separate in your mind and research.

The W. Richards with ELG proof marks may very well be one of the inexpensive Belgium knock offs intended to trade against the excellent reputation of Westley Richards and W. Richards (both British brands). Lots of W. Richards Belgium guns floating around USA. Many have the barrels marked Laminated Steel as another indicator. Usually a look at the proof marks will disclose the true origin. The Belgium ones are not anywhere near equal quality or value of the British guns and the laminated steel barrels need a close inspection and expert advice before you use any smokeless powder loads through them. Hopefully your gun is the British variety. It is not a Westley Richards because they never abbreviated the first name.

Magnificent new double 8 bore there - but I would be petrified taking it out on a muddy marsh! I have to think that the bulk of these new 4 and 8 bores being made will never see the light of a morning, evening or moon flight. Would love to be proven wrong smile

I'll right gladly shave my head if'n I can keep that gun pictured!!! grin

At least I got to hold it for a little while - - - long enough to give 'er a spin, too!!

Handling dynamics as follows:
Weight = 12.45#, CG = 7 5/8" to trigger, unmounted MOI = 3.38, mounted MOI = 17.43, bore = 8, barrel length = 34", LOP = 15 1/4", and half weight radius = 11.22". Down right stately of swing!!! smile

Only a few months ago, I didn't buy a great Westley Richards hammerless eight. It's in good hands, but not mine.
