I think most of us in the firearm game have more than one interest. I took up the Schuetzen rifle around 1971-2 and started full time when I got my own range in 1973. Back then I was collecting Sharps cartridges and researching them in the winter. I like the Schuetzen game because the shooter is responsible for finding the right mould for the rifle, finding the right temper of bullet material, casting and then inspecting and weighing every bullet, mix up a batch of lube then lubing the bullets. Then there is the management of the rifle, I spent one summer learning the best way to rest the front of the rifle. I collected custom American double barrel shotguns, me and about six others in the states, there are still many bargains IMO in this field. As the price of custom rifles rises I've had to sell off most of my double gun collection, damm them guys who write about classic custom rifles.
When summer comes I'm shooting one of my Schuetzen rifles. Few thing give me as much pleasure as putting ten-shots into under an inch at 200-yards.
