It is interesting that being that close number-wise, they are both Premier grade.

Forgive the quality of these pics. I am using my sons camera and I only had a few minutes to take and post these pictures.

The first two are of my "Excel Club Gun" and the cross that is on the rib.

This last picture, while not very good shows the snake in the mouth of on heron (??). I have seen snakes on two other Premiers at the Vegas show. One in a birds mouth like this and another in the water at the feet of a bird.

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who might have a copy of "The history of W&C.Scott," authors, John A.Crawford & Patrick G.Whatley available for sale?

Were the W.&C. Scott built for North American use only? Or were they built for all outside of England trade?
In the Crudgington book II The British Shotgun pg. 97 "The guns marked for export were marked W. &C. Scott and in addition for the U.S. Market carried the dates and numbers of the American patents.

I own a very high grade W C Scott SLE(hammerless) from the late 19th Century. I will take photos if someone here would be willing to post them for me?

Is the book worth the $85.00 price tag ?

Scott's guns didn't travel in the uppish tier of English shooting. They did however, make a name in the gun exporting business tho.
Only Brummie Westley, could snag some of the posh London money.
