I'm looking into my next gun, a .410 sxs. I'm looking for input on these various guns and how you would rate them.
I have owned a #2 AYA and found it an acceptable quality gun, barely. I can simply buy one of these for less than $5k and go hunt.
I have not even held a Merkel. The asthetics of these guns leave me cold, the engraving of any of the grades is...well, Germanic and does nothing for me. I'd likely take a file to one and sculp it and restock a field grade to some quality wood. Another expensive project on top of the $4400 price.
I have some limited gawking at Parker Repro's. I'd have to buy a 28g, order .410 barrels from CSM and probably have a new forend carved in a small beavertail. Expensive route, but could be a fine gun when finished.
