Like trying to "sex" Canada geese in flight, as the late George Grinnell once said, when asked about trying to only shoot the male birds, to preserve the female brood stock-"How do you tell the males from the females in a flock of honkers coming into your decoys in November?" "Well, you can't," he replied, "only they can, and if they believe in Ladies First, then so be it!"
