I believe you are correct in that they did a lot of work for auto companies. Back home there is a book of some drawings my grandfather did, advertisement style drawings probably for billboards. Any idea how many rifles Howe built under his own name? Is there any connection between him and Niedner?
I have never seen any connection between Howe and Niedner. Howe built a lot of rifles but like other makers who never or hardly ever marked his work most are on the loose and have not been identified. The ones in his books are easy to ID the rest not so easy. A lot of opportunities out there.
