Old friend dropped off a gun for me. It needs the typical restock and restore job most projects seem to need these days. It is a pre-war Super O/U with two triggers. In fact it was the two triggers that made him think of me as he said he could not stand two triggers and knew I could. I did not show him that in fact these two triggers were just a special one trigger if operated properly. It is the two trigger which stopped me from tossing the gun out the back door after he left. Those two triggers look neat on a O/U.

Basics of the gun. Two triggers, broken, cracked and abused stock. 30" barrels that are Mod. and Full. The gun is loose, well off face is a nice way to say it. Metal is clean, with little finish remaining, no pitting. Bore are perfect and no dents on the barrels.

So has anyone restored or restocked a Browning lately? I do not want to just send it to Art's and drop two grand in a restoration project. Even free it would be a money pit. It needs to be put back on face. The restock I can handle but it may have to be converted to a straight grip to fit into my gun room.

I know some one here has restored and restocked a Browning. What are my major pit falls here?
