I am looking to a have a Silvers repro pad fitted to one of my doubles. Any recommendations on a good gunsmith/gunmaker/stockmaker? I want it to look like this when done.

Ahoy, down there in Dothan. If you are coming to Montgomery anytime soon, Dave Wills does beautiful work. I can give you his number if you are interested. He is a custom stockmaker and very double-gun savvy. He usually saves pad installations and stock bending for the weekends, makes walnut shavings all during the week.

I bought a Period pad from Connecticut Shotgun. I had my gunsmith install it, the way Connecticut shotgun told me to do. He said to buff it with Vaseline and apply varnish to it. I have since sold the gun to a very well known gun dealer and committed that it still had the original pad. when you get them they look very orange, but when you finish them properly they look exactly like your picture which made me think of that.
