Friends:
I am trying to get a handle on the ( rough - ballpark - I wasnt born yesterday) approximate value of a 10 bore , circa 1891 ( no proof marks) V. C. Schilling water fowler hammergun. It was obviously intended for the American market, as it is marked in English, but it is NOT marked Charles Daly. It is in lovely shape, tight as a bank vault, bright bores, no obvious abuse, case colors remain in protected areas, restrained engraving on lock plates, heavy and built for service. I was fortunate in finding it, but... times are tough and graduate school has turned out to be expensive.
I can make an appraisal on lots of marks, but I just know too little about classic Prussian guns, and I have never seen a similar gun for sale. References would be appreciated as well.
