I would like some input as to the "today" value of a 95% Lefever nitro special in 410. A real closet queen. What would be a fair price, what would be a real buy?

If this buffed and polished beauty is over a thousand bucks what would a nice original one be?

I've been watching them as I have two. One is gussied up and the other a basic gun that has been around but not really all that bad. I think the used and abused ones are going/asking around $1k now +/-. If you really have a hankerin for a really nice one for a collector/shooter, I would think $1500 isn't out of reality, maybe more. I've passed on some guns that the money difference between them and some so-so guns would be long forgotten. If you could get a real good example for $1k you'd be a winner, less you'd have your hand in the cookie jar.

One in nice original condition sold at the Oct. Julia auction for $1782.50 total.

I saw one at a local gunshow a couple month's back. It was pretty much a beater, tag said $1200. Kinda doubt he sold it.

I bought a "brown" gun with no casecolors and a recoil pad installed about 6-7 yrs ago for $700. I expect it's gone up in value and back down in that time. I'd say it's a $800 gun today. Some of the optimistic sellers on the net would ask $1000 to $1200 or more, but they don't seem to be selling them.

Thanks, I have seen the photos of that one before.........it's fancy. The one I'm looking at is nice. Untouched. Now I have to make the deal.

I've only owned a few of the Nitro Specials over the years and every one of them has either been close to or dead on perfect as far as overall weight per gauge is concerned. I found that the NID and for that matter their Flues model as well that the weight per gauge are all over the scale, and although not as finely built, I like the Nitro Special for a field gun better then the other Ithaca models.
And Chuck I will never get tired of looking at that Nitro Special of yours!!!
