The RBL-12 I ordered as a hunting gun is exactly seven pounds even (with the thinner of the two recoil pads installed). The thicker one ups the weight by 3.2 ounces. The shorter length fits me fine and the weight is OK, too. It has 28" barrels, BTFE and straight stock with "standard" wood that is definitely upgraded to 3X or 4X. I got very lucky there. I am very pleased with it. Thought I would throw this out to show that not all of them are eight plus pounders.
