Researcher, Too bad they could not get the angle of the checkering to match the ancle of the design. I will repeat my offer to remove the NID contamination from your collection. Best, Walt

Very cool!
And it is right at the weight of a Fox HE. What more could you want.

Why would they have two types of blue and not offer a choice? If I was ordering a gun I'd certainly want to make sure I got what I expected.

Wow,8 lbs 14.7oz. for a SxS? What purpose would this gun serve?
I am with Chuck H on this! Bigger is not better.

The RBL-12 is chambered for 3-inch shells, and mine weighs 3.7 ounces more then my 32-inch barrel Super-Fox and two ounces less then my Fox-Sterlingworth Wildfowl.
As to the CSMC lasercut checkering being dark on some wood, from WW-II into at least the 1960s it was quite common to brush the checkering on a gun with oil stained with dark pigment to set the checkering off from the general color of the wood.
Walter, my NIDs work just fine. I did own a 12-gauge No. 1E in the 441xxx range that would kick open on firing, but it hit the river of commerce.

Lou did not have any vent rib 12 gauge RBLs at the Vintagers or at the Fall Southern, and now Dave sends us pictures of a supposed vent rib 12 but doesn't show the rib. Do these guns really exist?

I've had my RBL 12 for a couple of months now. 32", 2 triggers, straight grip and splinter. 4X wood. It came in at 8 lbs. 6 oz. I was hoping for 8 even but this works. I bought it for sporting clays and it works very well for that. With 3/4 oz loads it's virtually no recoil. Need a bit more LOP but I'm using a Galco pad for now. Triggers are great. Better than my Merkels. Well, at least as good as them. Wood is a bit proud but that will be taken care of in the near future. Overall I'm very satisfied with it for what I'm using it for. I've already gotten some punches with it and will have it at the Nationals in San Antonio this week. Robert Krull

The pics do show the vent rib. Compare the two photos and you can tell the bottom gun has one. Notice the flat surface. The ribs are not serrated. Mike Campbell re-cut the checkering on my RBL-20. It adds a lot to the look of the gun. I believe you're seeing before/after pics of the FE in his post.

Very nice guns. We can still shoot lead here but it is only a matter of time. I am considering ordering one of the 12 gauge RBL's with 32", 2 triggers, splinter and straight grip long stock with standard wood for use as a wildfowl gun. Mr Noreen is that Tonys "Oil" finish on your 4x walnut ? The re-cut checkering makes a world of difference at least in the photos.

The vent rib is so low you have to really get down and look to see the vents. The rib is below the barrels at the muzzle.
