Traditional driven bird loads--for which the game gun was designed--are indeed on the "light" side, by American standards. That being said, I get excellent results using those same 1 1/16 oz loads of Brit 6's on wild pheasants over pointing dogs. And I don't think they cause me to lose temporary control of my gun. I'd like to say that I seldom need a 2nd shot anyhow, but there may be a witness or two in the audience who would dispute that contention.
