A suggestion for those using Gauge-Mates. I used my Dremel tool to grind small "half moons" at the very rear; to facilitate fired case removal. Just remove enough metal to easily grasp the shotshell's rim.

Another thumbs up for the Gaugemates. Early on, I was loaned a set of silver 10-12 gaugemates and was sold on the concept. Without the modification jOe recommends, I needed to remove the silver one and poke the spent hull out. When I ordered my set, I chose the Gold 10-12 and I love there function. Used a set last night in my Francotte 10 bore for skeet. Great fun. Ted, good to see the Bates getting a workout. Randy

Thanks Brewster,I'll have the barrels checked.
j0e,what are we looking at in the picture? Is that a shell stuck in a gaugemate or a chambermate? What's up with that?

I have a set of W&C Scott 12ga to .410 tubes that have the same half moon cut. Not much in guns has not been tried before.

I just inserted a 12 ga. shell in the 10 ga. Gauge Mate Silver for the photo...the one in the center is a 12 ga. to 20 ga. a piece of crap in my opinion.
