Meanwhile AG Gerry Brown is promoting a health care proposed law that would require doctors to do essentially a prescription drug background check on patients and log the drugs and the patient into this database that would be accessable by law enforcement. What happened to doctor-patient confidentiality? I guess the Democrats will give up anything to get more control of the public.

Ya'll need to relax. This will keep the ammo out of the gangs' hands or at least cut each gangster back to 50 rounds per month, not nearly enough to kill anybody.

I mean look how well they have done keeping cocaine, meth, marijuana and other illegal drugs out of the state and away from those gangsters.

Best,

Mike

The public safety issue is critical but often silly and draconian and the California bill appears to be a symptom of it. Canada's gun registry is another.

What to do when doctors are prescribing pleasurable drugs willy-nilly for self-gratification including sexual favours? We hear of the Patriot Act providing access to medical records, library and credit card transactions.

I believe Canada requires family doctors to report anything that would disqualify patients from holding their flying licenses. I don't think there's anything the feds don't know about me, except where I put my rabbit snares.

Or about our bishop, who recently negotiated a $15 million sex abuse settlement in the diocese, had his laptop perused by our border security and was charged last week with importing child pornography.

All---good and bad--- generated by unwarranted fear, a need to be "safe" when it has never been a part of our existence.

But you will just have to make trips to Arizona and start stocking up.

Hard to do that, too. I was in SW AZ for eight days on two trips in early September, and their shelves are pretty much empty. Even the biggest hunting/shooting emporium in Yuma (Sprague's) was short on ammo and had signs posted at the registers limiting the number of boxes of ammo or the number of primers you could buy at one time. The WalMarts in Yuma have signs limiting you to two boxes per customer, but they had nothing to sell (other than .32 Auto). So I bought some .32 Auto, even though I don't have a .32 Auto. It's a nice light load in my S&W J-Frame .32 S&W Long, but it's not much of a stopper if you need that.

when i called the gov. office i asked how are they going to pay for the enforcement, California is broke. what are you going to do with violators, the feds have already told the gov. he has to let criminals out of prison because of over population.this was tried several years ago by the feds. and failed to produce any results.the [censored] gangmembers that they are trying to keep handgunammo from are the ones they are letting out of prison.California is what the rest of the USA will look like if obama and his liberal dems have there way.and for those of you that think that all of california thinks this way you are wrong ,unfortunately we have San Diego, los angeles, san francisco, sacramento, that decide for the rest of the state because of population.

This reported action makes me feel literally sick.

The push is to ban lead projectiles, making ammo more expensive and difficult to obtain. Now registration and record keeping for ammo purchases.

What restrictions will they impose on components? The gangstas may take up reloading.

I say screw California government and screw any national lawmakers who want to infringe on our rights.

Beware Obama's picks for future U.S. Supreme Court vacancies. If they win the judiciary we have lost all. Look at what happened to the UK and Australia.

Replacement:
The "ammo shortage" which IMO was supplier contrived and worsened by panic buying is for the most part over here. The Scottsdale Gun Club where I'm a member has quit ammo rationing and you can buy pretty much what you want anymore. There are still component shortages however and primers are in short supply.
