Pattern the gun before you do anything to determine point of impact. Don't just assume that the gun will shoot high because you see alot of barrel. This was allmost learned the hard way by me. I bought a 28ga that had a stock 3/4 in to long for me so I cut it. Length of pull was now fine but I saw a tremendous amount of barrel and was tempted to take a rasp to the comb. I thought it might be a good idea to shoot it first and check POI. A good thing I did because it shot dead on with the trap gun like sight picture.
