I'm afraid the only thing 'significant' about "Edmund Leonard Gunn" is that my imagination went a bit astray after a couple of beers last night... Sorry about that.

After looking at lots of Gothic fonts online I would go with ELG.

No F in the mix. An F in fonts similar to this generally has a tail that trails left - infront of the letter as you read it.

Googled "initials ELG" and this is what I got:

blunder bust
blunder bust blackpowder flint lock has a stamp of a crown with a v under the crown a circle with the initials E.L.G.under this is the number 512
